How to get to Jämi?

Organizer will coordinate travelling to Jämi in order to help those coming by plane either to Helsinki or Tampere and without means of transportation to the competition site.

There are buses from Tampere to Jämijärvi village, a few kilometres from the airfield. A bus leaves about every 2-3 hours, the trip will take roughly 1h 30 minutes. We will pick you from the bus stop. You can check the timetables at http://www.matkahuolto.info/lippu/fi/connectionsearch
The service is available also in English language. Use departure: Tampere, destination: Jämijärvi

If you have vacant seats in your car/van, we kindly ask you to inform your estimated time in Helsinki and number of persons you may take. Similarly, persons arriving to Helsinki or Tampere airports should inform their arrival times in order to get a ride. Send the information/request by e-mail to contest.director@jami2010.com

Facebook will be used to help match-making the same way as during the volcanic ash catastrophe.Post your offer or request in FB Carpool conversation

No MHMD required

Meierhofer Height Measuring Device (MHMD) will not be used in the competitions.

CIVA Glider Aerobatics Sub-Committee (GASC) made a decision regarding the use of the device. After a vote the decision was that the use of the device will not be required in WAGAC2010 nor EGAC2010.

Correction to FAI Sporting Code Section 6, Gliders

There is a misprint in the FAI Sporting Code Section 6, Gliders at paragraph 4.3.4.1 “Coefficients” The original text refers incorrectly to para 4.3.6

The correct version shall read as follows:

a)         The Free Programme is selected by competitors according to the Aresti System, Glider Version. For Advanced contests the restrictions of paragraph 4.3.5 also apply to the Free Programme. Catalogue numbers may be used only once, except for horizontal lines (sub-family 1.1) and slow rolls (family 9.1).

Opening ceremony on Saturday, July 17th at 16:00

The opening ceremony will be held in Jämi Areena, and will start at 16:00 local time.

Number of participants per team

There has been some inquiries how many competitors there can be per team. The two competitions are separate, although they are arranged at the same time in the same place. Therefore the size of the team can be up to 8 competitors per class, totalling 16 competitors from one country.

According to the rules, organizer can reserve the right to decrease the number of competitors per team from 8 to 6 without consulting CIVA. That would mean max. 12 competitors from each country. The rule will only be applied if the number of competitors grows too big. Organizer wishes for a big, high quality competition.

Entry Fee

For competitors: 650 €
For team members: 250 €
The entry fee does not include the expenses of the accommodation, meals nor the towing service. The entry fee shall be received by the organizer latest on the closing date of the final entry. The entry fee has to be transferred in full (the transfer fees should be cover by sender) to the following bank account:
